Fish Hook

Look what came in the mail for me yesterday.

Last year while in NZ, we meet some new family members to Rick's family. We got talking and they said they were going to carve one for me. Maori's don't do carving just for anyone, as it is very meaningful to them. Not only was it carved especially for me but it was also blessed. I am feeling very special at the moment. As I am not even a Kiwi, and to have one made just for me by a Maori.

The fishhook is one of the most common symbols of the Maori people. This design represents strength and prosperity. It is also a good omen for anyone with an affinity with water and the ocean. This carving is traditionally given as a mark of friendship and respect. The fishhook is often incorporated within other shapes, adding the element of strength and prosperity.

The Fish Hook was placed into this hand woven bag for a safe travel.

Thank you so much Martha and David, I will cherish it always.

Short and Sweet.........

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

On Saturday, we went down to the local school as the girls wanted to go for a ride on the bikes. We were gone over 2 hours, but while the weather is ok you need to lap it up.

While we were there we saw this old Fire Engine. The driver told us that is was in service in the 1940's. It is fantastic condition. I love seeing classic vehicles, still on the road.

Also here is a sneak peak at a LO that I have done for Scrap Fever.

I have done a couple of other LO's but haven't scanned them yet. I will do that some time this week and put them up.

I am also waiting for a pizza box to arrive with lots of the new Pink Paislee......YUMMY. Love there products.

Well thats all for now, Short and sweet.

My Little Girl is............

9 TODAY.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL

We let Anabell open 1 pressie before school this morning. We normally don't have time to all of them in the morning as Rick goes to work to early.

Last night I made lots of cupcakes for her to take to school this morning. Pink icing with Fairies. Forgot to take a pic, but lucky me gets to do all this over again on Wednesday for Jasmine.

Here is the card that I made for Anabell.

I will be back later with more photos. Has now been edited with more photos.

Birthday Party

Today we went to Skateworld for Jasmines and Anabells birthday party.

I decided to give the girls one of there pressies early. So here are the girls wearing there new dresses.

This is the cake that I made last night. It took forever. The girls loved it, so I figure that's all that matters.

All the kids had a ball. Some hadn't been skating in awhile so it was funny watching them fall on there bums. I am glad that we went skating. Here are a few more photos.

A pic of the lolly bags.

We ran out of time, so the girls didn't get a chance to open there pressies there so we had to do it when we got home. Gee........where did that 2 hours go??? It went so quick.

I had a visit from Karen, we had a chat and she got to hold Miss S. I think that Karen was thinking of not giving her back.......lol.
My girls are nearly 9 and 11. That is so scary.

Take care

Ramblings...........

Hi all,

Thought I might show you a few more things that I have done lately. I have Miss S today, she is sleeping. Miss S is turning 6 months tomorrow. She is growing up so quick.

The first item that I have to show you is a card that I made for the girls to give Rick for Fathers Day. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. This card opens in stages.

This is a pic of the card closed.

****************************************
Here is a LO that I have done, of the girls on red nose day. It is a mono LO. Have you tried doing a Mono LO. I found it really challenging, but really enjoyed it.

The last Lo is one with my short hair. Yep one of me. I love Pink Paislee papers.

****************************************************
Cindy and I caught up at Frankston on Tuesday and had a cuppa, chat and did some shopping together. It was great catching up as we hadn't done that for ages. Hopefully we don't let time slip away for so long before we do it again.
That's it for today. Will be back soon for more.
