School, Shae, and Scrapbook Memories

The first day of school in 2008. J is now in grade 5 and A is grade 3. Seems like not that long ago when they were starting prep.

It was also there first day at a new school. All day I was hoping that everything was going ok for J in particular as she finds it hard to make friends. I knew A would be fine.

So the great news when I went to pick them up after school was they both had a great day and both made friends. J even got a phone call from one of her new friends to try and organize a visit to her house for a play. A, made lots of friends. Both the girls love there new school so much better than the other one. I on the other hand am so glad that they are so much happier.

On Sunday the 3rd we went to the Keysborough Animal Shelter. We came home with a new addition to our family.

Shae is 12 months old and is a Staffy x Mastiff. Her owner had died and that is why she needed a new home.

On the 6th, Rick decided to take Shae for a walk, and a play at the park. Shae was taken off the lead as she was running around and playing, when a car went past and backfired. Shae got spooked and ran off. So into the car we got and drove around for about 1 ½ hrs looking for her. Nope we didn’t find her. So the next morning I made up a missing poster to put at the shops near us.

I received a phone call on the next day to tell me that Shae had been found and where I could pick her up from. Well all that searching we did she went the total opposite way to the direction we were looking.

From what I have noticed, her funny walk, scared of cars (she even doesn’t like going into my car), I really think she might have at one stage been hit by a car, and now she is real scared of them.

Last Monday J went off to camp. The reason they do it at the new school is they want the kids to get to know each other and the teachers in a more relaxed atmosphere. So we only had 1 child for the whole week.

It was so quiet without her. Missed her heaps, but I didn’t miss the arguing with her sister. LOL

J was so happy when she got of the bus last Friday, she has a great time. The made rafts, shelters, went canoeing, horse riding, and lots of other things.

I think she has come back a much happier girl, not stressed like she use to be. Making friends help.

It’s great to have her home again.

I won a layout Challenge on Scrapping Jewels.

Next I have a couple of layouts to share.

One layout I can’t share yet as I have had to send it of to Scrapbook Memories. It is a double layout of the wedding that we went to on Australia Day. They want to see it in real life before they decide if they want to add it to the Wedding Gallery that they are going to do. It’s all exciting for me as I have always had a thanks but no thanks in the past.

I am SO glad you found Shae, I had been wondering...

You have been very busy with your scrapping - well done - they are all GREAT, as usual :)

Good luck with SM. I only ever get "thanks but no-thanks" emails from them.

See you tomorrow hopefully :)

So happy the girls have settled in well - different to last year.
Poor Shae, at least you got her back.
Love all your work as usual, you are so productive. I just need a few more hours each day.

Hi Vesna

Shae is gorgeous, very people friendly. Thanks for the crop day at your place, it's always good to get a break from the kiddies and lunch was so so delicious. I'm sure you will do well with scrapbook memories, I saw your layout IRL and it is beautiful. Glad to see you took up my suggestion for the heading "2 Hearts Become One" layout. That worked out very well.

Talk soon
