Australia Day Wedding

Hope everyone had a great Australia Day.

On Saturday morning we all got up and started getting ready as we had to go into the city. I had gone to the hairdressers on Thursday afternoon to have my hair straightened as I knew I wouldn't have had time to have it done on Saturday morning.

I curled Jasmines hair into ringlets and put half of it up. With Anabell I left her hair down and did funky curls into her hair. It took a few hours to do this, and lots of hairspray, especially for Anabell's hair as her hair is normally dead straight.

We at about 12:30 left to head of to the city. We decided to go a little earlier, so we could check into the hotel and then get dressed for the wedding. Well long story but we didn't make it to the actually wedding, but we went to the reception. We got almost to the hotel and we had to turn around and come home again.

The reception was at the Langham Hotel on the 25th Floor (Alto Tower). These 2 photos were taken from the hotel we stayed at across the road. It was the Travelodge Hotel Southbank Melbourne on the 8th Floor.

These a a few photos of us dressed and waiting to head over the road for the reception. I love the one of Anabell trying to do Rick's tie for him.

The next set of photos are of the Alto Room (where the reception was held)

And some more photos of the girls, on the balcony, and sitting at the table.

The view from the balcony was stunning.

The next lot of photos are some of the other people at the wedding. There was over 150 people there. The photo of the little boy, Christian 4, is such a cute little thing. He absolutely loves Anabell and wanted to take her home. He didn't believe us when we we said he wasn't allowed to, he is very persistent. HEHE

Tom and Suzie's entrance was spectacular. Suzie being Lebanese and Tom being a Kiwi made it for a great start. They came in and did the fantastic Lebanese dance with swords and other dancers. When they finished the dance, 5 Maori's came out and the women sang a song and did a poi dance, but the best part was when the men came to the front and did the haka.

Next on the agenda was the cutting of the cake and then the waltz. Suzie's dress was beautiful, it was beaded on the bodice and also was parts of the bottom of the dress.

There was fire works on the roof. I got a few photos.

The night was great, we all had heaps of fun. Congrats again to Tom and Suzie, hope you have many happy years together.

When we arrived back at the hotel rick made a coffee for us. Jasmine and Anabell wanted a cup of tea. But before we knew it Anabell had the kettle and was pouring the water into her cup and missed. She burned her fingers really bad. We had her fingers in cold water for ages and Rick went down to reception to see if they had something we could put onto the burn. He gave Rick a bandage and told him to put toothpaste onto it as it will help until the next day. Well what do you know, the pain went and she ended up getting some sleep. The poor little thing ended up with huge blisters on her fingers. They are getting better slowly now.

On the scrapping front, I have another 3 layouts to share.

WARNING..........Long Post and Lots of Photos

Hi all,

I have been busy, so it has been awhile since I last posted.
Firstly I will show you what my car looked like and the process of getting her painted, so bare with me.

My Torana was put into the garage on the 27th December 2007. Rick then pulled the front and rear windscreens, bumpers, number plates, mirrors, all things that we didn't want painted.

On the 28th and 29th and some of the 30th we sanded (alot was sanded on a previous occasion, but I won't get into why it wasn't finished) and repaired all the rust, to get her ready to paint. I had all but given up on my car getting painted, as I have been waiting for nearly 3 years for it to be done. We replaced the drivers and rear passenger door, boot lid and bonnet.
Sanding was a killer as most of it was done by hand, wet and dry. My hands killed after 2 days of sanding.

This is a photo of the torrie undercoated this was done on the 31st December. She is looking better already. Lots more sanding and a few more spots needed to be repaired.

On the 2nd Jan 2008, she went from being undercoated in grey to pink (Spray putty). Spray putty helps fill little dints. We then again had to sand, sand, sand. Gee, I was really over all the sanding. But if I hadn't of helped Rick the car would have taken alot longer to finish. It was hard not having a car to drive.

We then were up to spraying her the with the proper colour. Rick started on the 3rd Jan, but it was really hot and the paint was drying before it even hit the car. The 4th and 5th were also a stinker of a day so he didn't even go up to the shed.

Sunday the 6th Jan, was Ricks last day of his holidays. He was due back at work on Monday. Lucky that day was alot cooler, so he could spray the car. Yeah......he got it all finished, by the end of Sunday.

Monday the 7th, after coming home from work Rick went straight up to the garage so he could start putting all bumpers, the bonnet, boot lid back onto my car.

Tuesday the 8th, The windscreen guy came to put my front and rear windscreens back in. After he left, I decided to put my mirrors back on, hook up my speakers, and few other things that I could do to help Rick. So when Rick got home a couple more things had to be done, before I could go for a drive. My car is now put back together, and I went for long spin around the block. Gee, it was great to go for a drive.

This is her now painted. She still needs to be buffed, not this weekend though as we are going to a wedding on Saturday afternoon.

Part of my birthday pressie was a personalized number plate. So she went from being BAZ606 to now...........TRAHNA.

I really want to do a design down the sides of the car. I just have to decide what I want, first.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the 15th, I meet up with Connie and she did a photo shoot of my girls. Connie has a couple of the photos on her blog. Love them, I can't wait to see the other photo's.
I entered a Dry Embossing Challenge. The winner was drawn on the 16th Jan. I entered a card and my owls (The are pictured in the last Post). I won with the owls. I can't wait to see what my prize is.
Coffee day at Wendy's on Thursday 17th, was great, as usual.
On Saturday he 19th, we all went shopping. We needed to find the girls something to wear at the wedding. After 5 hours and a lunch break we found some great dresses in Myer. Anabell's dress was on special so she ended up getting 2. Jasmine's dress was not on special and cost us $90. But the bonus was when we went to pay for the dresses Anabells dresses were dropped down even further. So all up we spent nearly $140 on 3 dresses.
Coffee Morning.......
On Thursday was Coffee morning at Wendy's, the first one back for 2008. It was great to catch up with everyone, and even Susan popped in for a few minutes. Rick finished work early so he came in and picked up the girls for me, so I could have some time without the little dears. HEHE
It was also my birthday on Thursday, and my DD's told Wendy when we went to visit her on Wednesday.
Here is a bunch of flowers that she gave me, thanks Wendy, there lovely. We also had yummy Caramel Mud Cake.
What made the day hard for me was the only person from my family that ever contacts me for my birthday is Mark, and it was real hard not to either get a text or a call just to let me know that he loves and misses me.
So a very big THANK YOU to all the girls at coffee morning and Rick and the girls for making my birthday an ok day.
It was also my Sister-in-laws Birthday on Thursday Andrea. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. Tried to call but she must have gone out.
My pressies were 5 cuttlebug embossing folders, a slow cooker, and I am waiting for my personalized number plates to come in the mail. I also bought some scrapping supplies. Rick and the girls also took me out for dinner.
While on the subject the Grungeboard, is great. I bought the plain elements pack so I could use the cuttlebug to emboss it.
Here is a LO, that I have now finished. The stars are the grungeboard that I have embossed.
We also decided to undo all the plaits in Anabells hair. It looked nice with the crinkled effect. But there is a much simpler way to get that look rather than spending what feels like forever doing all those little plaits.
My car is now back on the road. YEAH
I have photos to share but I will do that in the next post.
I also can't wait to get my hands on the latest Scrapbook Creations, as Leeanne's has a LO in there. Congrats Leeanne, your work is stunning.
Well that's all from me for today
Until next time
Take care
LO's in 2008
Hi all,
In the last few days, while it has been hot Rick couldn't do the clear coats of paint on my car as the paint was drying before it even hit the car.
Thank goodness today was a cooler as he got all the clear on the car. It now has been put back together, except for the windscreens. I am waiting for them to come in as we needed to order them. Hopefully the windscreens rubbers will be in tomorrow (Monday).
The girls and I will need to catch the bus to go and see Wendy. I haven't had to do that in awhile now. Not really looking forward to it, catching buses that is.
While on the subject of Wendy, you really need to go and check out her Blog, and her exciting Dolly Collections. She is also going to do online classes. I have already ordered the first Dolly Collection, now I just can't wait to have a play with all the fab products that are in there.
I have been on a roll with LO's so far this year. I have now done 6. So here they are:
The Magic of Christmas
(this LO has been entered into the Fiskars Sketch Challenge)
Together
Please Help Me
Take Care
Great Mates
Mud Monsters
Today I made these owls with pp and chipboard. I also couldn't resist, I had to use my cuttlebug.
Lastly, this is the card that I have made for my sister-in-law. It is her birthday this Thursday. I have made the butterfly using transparency and my AL stamp. If you fold the transparency in the middle of the butterfly you get the 3D effect.
I have entered the owls and the birthday card into the Fiskars dry embossing challenge.
Well that's all from me for now.
Until next time
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL...........
I hope that everyone had a great Christmas. Santa did arrive at our place and the girls were very excited. They woke up the earliest ever, at 7am. Normally they wake up after 8:30am.
So up at 7, opened all the pressies, then had to make 10 sushi rolls. We for the first year went out on christmas day. Normally we stay home as we don't have family around. This year we went to a mates place Tom and Suzie's to have lunch. I cut the sushi rolls when we arrived at there house, there were about 90 and they all went.
Suzie loves swings, so Tom with the help of Rick build the big swing. So here are my girls loving it on christmas day.
26th, boxing day: My car was driven into the garage and was stripped, ready to be painted. The girls had fun playing and I made a birthday card for my sister-in-law using my new cuttle bug I got for xmas.
27,28 and 29th: Rick had to do the repairs on the Torana. She didn't have as much rust as we first thought. We also spent 2 days hand sanding the whole body of the car also. Ready for it to be painted.
30 and 31st: My car went from being undercoated (Grey) and then had spray putty all over it. It looks lovely NOT, she looks nipple pink.
1st Jan 2008:
Today we decided to leave the car and we went to Karingal. The girls wanted to spend some of there xmas money. We also went to Hoggs Breath for lunch, and went to the movies to see The Bee Movie.
Karen.......to answer your question about doing all the plaits. I did it on 2 seperate sittings, as my hands can't cope with doing anything like that for ages, my fingers really kill and I pay for it for days.
THE WINNER........of the guess how many plaits Anabell has in her hair is WENDY. Wendy had picked 39 plaits and Anabell has 41 plaits. So how close was that. So Wendy can you please let me know if you just want me to bring it to the shop for you on Monday or whether you want me to post it to you, as I will need your address.
Just a little note to my beautiful nephews, Joel, Malcolm and Aberaham. I love you all and I can't wait to see you all again, hopefully soon. And Sonia (my sister), let us not lose contact again, it's been great having you back in my life. Love you all heaps.
